When it comes to Fertility, the diet is of utmost importance. It truly is difficult for the body to allow conception without good, adequate nutrition. And if you are a having problems conceiving, whether you are a Man or a Woman, then give your body at least 60-90 days of making the following positive changes and habits of health before trying again.
It has been such a blessing since I began my practice in 1995 to have had so many happy couples I have been honored to serve in helping them with their fertility, and so many healthy babies out there! Grateful that they have All been successful joyful pregnancies;)
Now, I will be blunt. As I am very direct and raw when it comes to Health… Both Men and Women must understand something… It takes Two To Tango. So both Men AND Women should adopt the following changes to their diets and lifestyles if their desire is to conceive a healthy baby some day.
Women:
-Avoid smoking tobacco and all other types of stimulants, alcohol, red meats and animal protein in general (they may contain harmful amounts of synthetic hormones), caffeine, and foods laced with GMOs (genetically modified organisms), pesticides, and chemicals.
-Eliminate or reduce significantly animal protein, sugary foods, junk foods, fried foods, fatty foods, and dairy products.
-In simple terms, Eat More Organic. Eat Plant-Based Diets. Your Body Is Worth It.
Men:
-Research from the Lancet shows men who eat mostly organic foods produce 43% MORE SPERM than those men who don’t. EMPHASIZE organic foods, Gentlemen. Especially organic tomatoes and specific natural supplementation I will mention at the end of this article for a lycopene boost.
-Zinc foods are very important. Eat: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and wheat germ.
Both:
-Have a cup of green tea every morning. May be blended with white tea.
-Eat an abundance of whole grains, sea vegetables, fresh vegetables and fruits.
Lifestyle changes:
-DO NOT SMOKE OR INTAKE ANY SORT OF STIMULANTS. (Men, if you smoke, with time, you may develop Atherosclorosis/Arteriosclerosis, a hardening of the arteries, which apart from affecting fertility, can even impede you from having strong erections.) Avoid secondary smoke. Avoid places with pollutants and smog as much as you can.
Sleep is necessary! Did you know that 25-30% of American couples say they are too tired to make love? Yes! So rest, Ladies and Gentleman. And yes, the missionary position seems to be the #1 position that increases conception chances.
-Exercise. Mild exercise. Excessive exercise can hamper fertility.
-Use ONLY natural sexual lubricants during sex… And only if truly needed. (When a woman begins the fertility program below, natural vaginal lubrication is enhanced.) For information on a natural sexual lubricant I recommend, read my article in the section, Did You Know?, “*Healthy Sex, Toxins, Sexual Lubricants, And Sex Toys‘.
Women:
Stress, anxiety and infertility are linked. Find ways to relax. Whatever feels good to you will be the best relaxation steps for You; yoga, deep breathing, meditation, etc. are all wonderfully successful relaxation techniques.
Men:
Avoid hot water beds and hot electric blankets.
And one thing that may shock you… Sex MORE than 3x per week reduces sperm quality.
Stress and abnormal sperm formation and abnormal sperm production are linked. Also, relax more.
If the weather permits, sun bathe, nude if possible, for 15-20 minutes.
Both:
One great way to relax together? Get side by side massages often!
